Ugandan music heavyweight Bebe Cool has revealed that he felt sorry for Sheebah Karungi upon learning that she was set to battle Cindy Sanyu in the much-anticipated Sheebah vs. Cindy music battle in 2023.
Bebe Cool, real name Moses Ssali, made the statement while speaking about Cindy’s dominance in the industry, highlighting her unmatched stage performance and vocal ability.

The Gagamel boss recalled his early days in the industry, mentioning that he had followed Cindy’s music journey from the time she participated in the Coca-Cola Rated Next competitions in the early 2000s.
"When I heard that Cindy was going to battle Sheebah, I felt sorry. I have seen Cindy’s strength since her early days in music competitions. She is simply on another level. I have also watched Sheebah grow, but Cindy’s abilities on stage are unmatched," Bebe Cool stated.
He further acknowledged that Uganda is lucky to have an artist of Cindy’s caliber, calling her “gold” and urging her to mentor younger female artists in the industry.
"What I want to tell Ugandans is that we have gold in Cindy. She is an artist who can represent Uganda anywhere. All I ask her is to teach the young ones how things are done," he added.
Bebe Cool Promises a Collaboration with Cindy
During the same conversation, Bebe Cool expressed interest in working with Cindy on his upcoming album, “Break The Chain.”
“I have a lot of respect for Cindy, and I am looking forward to working with her. I plan to have a collaboration with her on my album,” he revealed.
Bebe Cool’s remarks add to the ongoing debate about the impact of the Cindy vs. Sheebah battle, a showdown that left Ugandans divided but proved to be a defining moment for Uganda’s music industry.
