Kampala, February 2025 – Ugandan music icon Moses Ssali, popularly known as Bebe Cool, has firmly defended his transition to a new sound in his upcoming album, Break The Chains.

The Gagamel International boss is embracing Afrobeats, a genre currently dominating the global music industry. While some fans have welcomed his new approach, others have accused him of mimicking Nigerian artists.

Bebe Cool’s View on Musical Evolution

Despite mixed reactions to the album’s lead single, “Circumference,” Bebe Cool is confident in his musical transformation. He argues that artists must evolve to stay relevant in an ever-changing industry.

"Music is like fashion. Just as people change their clothing to suit the weather, an artist must adjust to fit the market demands," he explained.

Bebe Cool believes that resistance to change has hindered many Ugandan artists from achieving global recognition.

The Release of ‘Motivation’

Undeterred by criticism, Bebe Cool has announced the release of his second single, “Motivation,” scheduled to drop on February 21, 2025.

Fans and critics alike are eagerly anticipating the song’s release to see if it will further establish Bebe Cool’s Afrobeats transition or reignite debates about his artistic direction.
