The International Association for Strategy Professionals (IASP) in Uganda has partnered with the International Association for Strategy Professionals (IASP) at global level, in a two day Africa regional conference to focus on unlocking the future of Africa through collaborative and innovative strategic initiatives.
On Tuesday in Kampala at Serena hotel, the event emphasized on topics relevant to the African continent , where it also featured strategists from Africa, Austria, and the United States.
The participants have also learned from strategy experts who have shared insights and led discussions on topics such as unlocking Africa’s strategic future, leveraging technology in strategy formulation and execution, strategic foresight, and cross sector collaboration for strategic impact.
In the same vein, according to the press statement, delegates have engaged in collaborative ideation and prototyping of strategic opportunities presented by the Africa Free Trade Agreement (AFTA).
“IASP is the global standard bearer for all things as relates to organizational transformation and strategy. We support and connect strategy professionals to engage in thought leadership, share resources, and participate in professional development opportunities,” said Ms. Monica Allen, the IASP Global President.
Monica, however, added that as strategy professionals, they promote strategic planning through collaborations and one can gain successes in multiple projects.
“ We have collaborated with different organizations on this event to bring together experts and professionals to drive change and advance the strategic goals of our region,” Daniel Omara, IASP Uganda Chapter, President, mentioned.
The event brings together leaders from government, business, military and NGOs to explore how collaborative and innovative initiatives can drive strategic impact and address complex challenges.
Joseph Muvawala, the executive director, National Planning Authority, speaking at the event addressed the need for critical connectivity interventions towards unlocking Africa’s development potential, such as the development and maintenance of transport networks (roads, railways, ports, and airports),expansion of energy infrastructure to ensure reliable power supply, Investment in digital infrastructure for improved internet and telecommunications access.
Prioritizing key infrastructure projects like the Trans-African Highway network and regional rail networks, leverage public-private partnerships (PPPs) for infrastructure financing and Implementing policies to streamline construction and maintenance processes, he said.
