Daniel Lubwama Kigozi, popularly known as Navio, has confidently declared himself the king of Ugandan hip-hop, stating he has moved beyond the need to prove his status in the industry. Appearing on Bruno K’s live broadcast ‘Ekiboozi’, Navio was asked to weigh in on who holds the hip-hop crown between himself, Babaluku, and GNL Zamba. Without hesitation, the Navcorp boss asserted his position at the top, backing his claim with an impressive record of achievements.

Navio highlighted that he has performed in 46 countries and has won over 60 awards during his career—accomplishments that set him apart from his peers. He also emphasized the authenticity of his large social media following, contrasting it with other rappers who allegedly inflate their numbers with bots. “Talent and stats speak for themselves. I’ve been an underground battle emcee and have won many battles, even featuring the best in Africa and South Africa,” Navio explained.

Beyond music, Navio has made significant strides in business, revealing that he owns 50 apartments, a testament to his success and financial acumen. He noted that he has performed at around 60 shows this year alone and has been signed to major streaming companies in the past four years. For Navio, these milestones make it unnecessary to engage in diss tracks or rivalries: “I’m at the point where proving myself is a bit weird. I’m way past that.”
