Ugandan singer Spice Diana has shared one of her most frustrating experiences with an event promoter. While on a TikTok Live session with fellow musicians Bruno K and Crysto Panda, Spice Diana revealed how a promoter failed to pay her after she had traveled all the way to Masaka for a scheduled performance.
Spice Diana recalled the ordeal of traveling to Masaka while suffering from ulcers, only to find that the promoter was missing.
Challenges Faced:
- She had four shows on the same day.
- Struggled with stomach ulcers throughout the journey.
- Upon arrival, the promoter had vanished without making payment.
Despite the unpaid booking and her poor health condition, Spice Diana chose to perform out of love for her fans.
“In the pain I was feeling, I asked myself what I could do in the moment because I couldn’t leave Masaka without singing to my fans. I got on stage, talked about it, and eventually sang in pain.”
The next morning, the promoter tried to shift the blame onto her, portraying her as the one at fault.
“To make matters worse, he acted as if I was the one in the wrong, yet he had disappeared without paying me.”
Spice Diana’s story highlights the challenges artists face with unreliable event promoters, but her dedication to her fans remains unshaken.
