Kampala, Uganda – Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Julius Ahimbisibwe, the suspended Jinja Road Division Police Commander, was found dead on Monday morning in a septic tank at his residence in Nakitokolo, Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso District. The discovery has shocked the police force and the community, prompting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Ahimbisibwe was suspended last year following allegations of domestic violence, including a severe incident where he allegedly shot his ex-wife. His suspension and criminal charges had put his career and life under intense scrutiny. The discovery of his body in such unusual circumstances has raised many questions about whether his death was accidental, a suicide, or something more sinister.

Police spokesperson ACP Kituuma Rusoke has urged the public and media to withhold judgment until the postmortem results are available, emphasizing that the presence of a rope around Ahimbisibwe’s neck alone is insufficient to conclude suicide. The case has highlighted ongoing concerns about the pressures faced by law enforcement officers embroiled in personal and professional turmoil.
