Uganda’s State Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of Regional Cooperation, Hon. John Mulimba has held a productive discussion with Her Excellency Esther Kazadi, the Senior Minister and Minister-Delegate in charge of International Cooperation and Francophonie of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to address the pressing issues of the arrested fishermen on lake Albert and Edward.
The two parties have proposed to enter a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at initiating bilateral sessions.
On the same visit, Minister Mulimba has also met with Didier Mazenga Makanzu, the DRC’s Minister of Regional Integration where both emphasized the need for resolving the conflicts and insecurity issues on Lakes Albert and Edward.
However, Uganda’s Minister Mulimba, accompanied by members of the Ugandan embassy, visited a Ugandan company operating in DRC which specializes in exporting food supplies from Uganda.
Mulimba together with the Ugandan ambassador to DRC commended the manager and her team for their efforts to promote Ugandan products and support bilateral trade between the two nations.
In conclusion, the two also encouraged other Ugandan suppliers to explore opportunities in the DRC and consider expanding their business activities in the country.
