Traditional artist Jumba Lubowa has released a brand-new song titled “Omuntu WaWansi” (The Ordinary Person), inspired by the real-life struggles of Ugandans who have been displaced and left homeless following government efforts to reclaim wetlands.

Through the song, Lubowa highlights the pain and hardships faced by vulnerable families whose homes and livelihoods have been destroyed, leaving many without shelter. His powerful message gives a voice to ordinary citizens who often find themselves caught between environmental conservation efforts and the need for survival.

In “Omuntu WaWansi,” the artist appeals to the authorities to exercise restraint and compassion when implementing wetland restoration programs. Rather than using excessive force, he urges leaders to adopt humane approaches that protect both the environment and the dignity of affected communities.
