Bad Character Records boss Kalifah Aganaga has shed light on why singer Karole Kasita did not feature on the popular “Nassanga” Remix, confirming that the verse eventually performed by Winnie Nwagi had initially been written for Kasita.
Speaking during a phone interview, Aganaga revealed that Karole Kasita declined the collaboration because she did not connect with the song, describing it as “too local” for her style.

According to the singer, his team waited for more than two weeks for Karole Kasita to make a final decision, but despite being close friends, she neither responded to their calls nor turned up to record her part. With the remix’s release being delayed, Kalifah Aganaga decided it was time to move on and find another female artist.

“We waited for Karole Kasita for over two weeks because the remix was supposed to be released much earlier. She wasn’t picking our calls, and I needed a female voice on the project, so we decided to choose another artist,” Aganaga explained.
He eventually approached Winnie Nwagi, who accepted the offer and recorded the verse, delivering what Aganaga described as an exceptional performance that contributed to the remix’s success.

Kalifah Aganaga also disclosed that Chozen Becky was actually his first choice for the remix. However, she also turned down the collaboration after feeling that the song’s vibe was not the right fit for her.

“I had initially approached Chozen Becky, but she also declined the project. They simply didn’t connect with the vibe,” he said.

The singer noted that he holds no hard feelings toward either artist, saying he understands such decisions because he has made similar career choices himself. As an example, Aganaga revealed that he once declined an opportunity to feature on Feffe Bussi’s hit song “Nze Alina” because he did not feel a connection with the track at the time.

“I was once invited to feature on ‘Nze Alina,’ and I also declined because I didn’t feel it,” he added.

Despite the initial setbacks, the “Nassanga” Remix has become one of the standout collaborations of the year. The song continues to receive heavy airplay on radio and television stations while attracting impressive streaming numbers across digital platforms.

With the remix’s growing popularity, excitement is also building among fans ahead of the highly anticipated Nassanga Festival, where supporters are expected to celebrate the success of the hit song.
