Makindye East race
Starting as youth councilor at the KCCA, Hon Nyeko Derrick advanced his ambitions of politics through becoming the member of Parliament for Makindye East constituency in Makindye Division where he has been representing the area from 2021 to date on National Unity Platform(NUP) card .
Nyeko recently he had shown his ambition to run in the upcoming elections still to represent Makindye East in parliament until today when he came out to withdraw from the race .
According to the statement seen by the publication on Hon Nyeko’s twitter page, he heightened “I wish to extend my deepest gratitude to all who have believed in me throughout the years I have been entrusted with leadership. It is with a heart full of joy that I have served you with honour, respect, and a deep commitment never to betray the trust of your vote.
I know this decision may not be easy for my team and supporters to receive, especially after our strong belief that we would once again win the Makindye East MP seat. However, after deep reflection, I have made the difficult decision not to offer myself for election in the coming polls.
This choice does not diminish the journey we have walked together, nor the victories we have achieved. It is my hope that the spirit of unity, resilience, and service to our people will remain stronger than ever.
I remain the man of no corruption, no problems.
With humility and gratitude,” he said .
As the publication we shall continue following up for more details
